Announcing our new Adams St. Family Campus!

You are invited to celebrate the grand opening of the Adams St.
Family Campus, at 2909 South Adams Street, Tacoma, WA 98409

The development of the Adams Street Family Campus is the Rescue Mission’s response to reduce family homelessness in the community and represents a community partnership with major investment by government, foundations, corporations, and numerous individual donors.

The Adams Street Family Campus is a refuge to provide Help, Hope and Healing to homeless families and unaccompanied women. The emergency housing wing of this complex provides 20 rooms for homeless families. Each room has a capacity of 4 beds with a microwave and sink. To accommodate larger family composition, a family may be assigned 2 rooms connected by an inner door. Guests of the emergency housing may reside up to 90 days while receiving case management and other supportive services.

The transitional housing wing consists of 16 furnished apartment units for families/unaccompanied women. There are 2 2-bedroom apartments, 12 1-bedroom apartments and 2 studio apartments. The target population is families (primarily single parents) who are actively struggling with alcohol/chemical addiction and have expressed a commitment to achieve recovery while remaining united with their children. Clients participate in supportive services (case management, addiction recovery treatment, life skills training, family finances, parenting skills, etc.). A youth program coordinator will plan and oversee programs for children and youth. Clients may reside up to 24 months in transitional housing and monthly rent will be on a sliding scale basis. The expected outcome at program exit is successful recovery, employment and permanent housing.
