We're Pleased to Announce the Launch of our New Brand!

Women, men. Old, young. Fathers, mothers. Sisters, brothers. Today’s Rescue Mission serves all parts of Tacoma and Pierce County, working with people at all stages of addiction, homelessness and other life challenges.

And while we were originally founded to serve homeless men in Tacoma, the needs of our community and the people we serve have changed. And so have we.

Beginning this month, the Tacoma Rescue Mission will change its name to the Rescue Mission. This new name reflects our commitment to serve people from all parts of our region and, increasingly, more children and families.

As part of our name change, we’re also unveiling a new logo and tagline, Help. Hope. Healing.

“What’s most important about this change is that it will help us tell our story better -- to our community, to donors and to the many, many organizations who partner with us” explains David Curry, President and CEO of Tacoma Rescue Mission.

The logo, with its vibrant colors and uplifting arms, visually represents the powerful words included in our tagline.

What else does the new brand mean?

The Rescue Mission is more than a name or a new logo. It starts with our mission – to help people at all stages of addiction, homelessness or other life challenges. It is fulfilled every day in the promise we make to the people we serve and to one another. Because we help, our clients have hope.

And when we are most successful, hope leads to healing.

This is the story of the Rescue Mission. And with the introduction of our new name, logo and tagline, we will be telling this story again and again.

How can you help?

Think of the Rescue Mission story as three simple messages. When someone asks you about the Rescue Mission, these messages will help you:

What we do

The Rescue Mission provides help and hope to men, women and children who need shelter, food and assistance with life changes that lead to self sufficiency.

How we do it

Guided by our Christian faith and belief in the human spirit, the Rescue Mission works with people at all stages of addiction, homelessness or other life challenges, offering proven services, support and facilities.

Where we’re going

Originally founded to serve homeless men in Tacoma, the Rescue Mission has grown to serve women and children in all parts of Pierce County. We lead by learning, nurturing, innovating and partnering.
