Do Over?

A Moment with Marlene;

Do over? Yeah right!

Have you ever wished you could start all over? Do you ever look back longingly and say to yourself, “If only….”?  Well I have!

Hindsight has 20/20 vision doesn’t it! And it certainly is true. We can look back on so many situations and messes in our lives with and interesting clarity of what we should have said or what we should have done or how we should have handled the situation. Regret and shame have a powerful way of pulling us into the past. They are enemies to our future, and they show no mercy.

I absolutely love this passage in Isaiah 43:18,19 “Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness. Rivers in the desert.”

God has a message for you today! He is declaring new things for your life!  One definition of the word new is “not existing before.” The creative power of the Lord is about to do some things in you life that have NEVER been done before!! When we turn to Jesus and give Him our lives, “All things have become new!” 2 Cor 5:17 And…He is going before you to make a way for the miracles of recovery yet to be lived out!

Learn from your past, but never let it define you! You are who God says you are! The past with all of its pain, will lose its power; and you will be free to be all that God has destined you to be!

Do over?….I don’t think so! There is still so much to be done! What possibilities lie ahead? Praise God for new beginnings!

Celebrating New Life Together,

Marlene

I belive I have to remember the past so I can constantly remember…remember, what I would do different, each and every day. After time the apperence of myself and to others will reflect this new change. the new decesions I make in life. Even if I fail one day, remember that I did, and call out “Do Over” I can learn from the memories and mistakes,Sins & try again thru the glory of the promise Jesus Christ made to me.Thanks for your words and encouragements. I have a long road ahead…..hopefully it will not be full of “Do Over’s” but learned fruits for the spirit!

    Dear Marlene,
Thanks!! You remind me of the words of Emerson,”What lies behind and what lies ahead are tiny matters compared to what lies within.” AND “NO ONE can go back to yesterday to make a brand new start; but, ANYONE can start from today and make a brand new ending.”

Thank you, awesome I really appreciate that. I am so thankfull that God has put people in our lives to uplift us with his word and encourage us. I often say to my self boy why Says Declaring the end from the begining and from the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand and I will do all my pleasure, 11 Calling a bird of prey from the east the man who executes my counselfrom a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass have purposed it; I will also do it. 12 listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, who are far from righteousness; 13 I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off; My salvation shall not linger. And I will place salvation in Zion, for Isreal My glory.

    Dear Marlene,

This is awesome!! I do feel like God has called this portion of my life to be my “new beginning” instead of a do over… thank you !!

Yes.. Praise God for new beginnings! For me it’s a miracle that God has given me this chance.. Ms. Marlene you don’t know how much I really appreciate all these blessings..this new life, what a way to start a new beginning.. it’s ok not to have a”do-over”, because that’s a vital part(past)of our life so we would know how we’re going to move on this time through God’s way !!! And I just ask God’s forgiveness for the things I did and didn’t do.. Praise God for all His goodness!

Thank you for this..I would say that i am happy things went the way they went in my past because they turned out good because i came to find GOD and that wus hes plan and my past has only made me a better man and a stronger man now i must continue in this new begining and not let my past bother me but be thankful for hes grace and love over me…

I do not have the ability to define myself really, only God can do that and when he does it certainly is full of surprizes; a whole new me that I was in the dark about in the past. The past is good, however because it is a reflective mirror to show me how ED defined himself, contrasted with how ED is defined and aware of this definition through Jesus. Now if that doesn’t get my attention “BIG TIME”!!!!! And it re-inforces my lighted path right into the future. I would not change one thing from the past because it guided me into a relationship with God and if I could change one thing in my past, maybe I would not be in the position that I am in today. So that being said because of my past, the truth has set me free, thank God!!! God forgives me, and he wants me to forgive myself, so it is up to me with my free will to do just that, forgive ED in my prayers and meditations always and the truth will set us free says the Lord.

All we need is GOD’s word it’s like refreshing rain that waters crops and seed; It brings new life to open hearts, And meets us in our need.

    Hello Marlene,
If it were not for all the mistakes, errors and sin in my past i would not have the desire, patience, discipline and motivation to pursue God with the desire and passion that i have today. All of the my past has driven me to do what it takes to not return to it. Today i am willing to do the things that i did not want to do in the past.
I learned this once and forgot about it until getting into the NLP
” If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got” !
    thanks
    Jim

You know I think about it and I know that I have made some mistakes in my life. But I really think that I dont need a do over at this point.. everything that i have done in my past, well it has ending up bringing me closer to the lord… So there is so much more good that has come out of my past than bad. But this blog made me think about something that Mr. David curry said, he said, E+R=O. Emotion+Reaction=outcome. that is a very good saying to take into consideration. If you can controll your reactions to your emotions you have a alot better chance of controll the outcome of a situation. so that is something that i will strive for.. thank you marlene.. always a pleasure
