  • Winter needs

    We're going to be starting fun events at our Adam's Street Family Campus after dinnertime. These will be game night, craft night, movie night, ect. If you're interested in volunteering for this or donating some items please contact our volunteer department at 383-4493. 

     

    Sponsoring a meal:

    It costs $500 to sponsor the entire dinner that feeds hundreds of people. This is a wonderful way to volunteer with yoru family, company or organization & make a huge impact! For more information please contact Juliet Wallin at 529-6845 for more information. 

     

    Drives/Donations: 

    During this cold winter season we are still in need of winter clothing; coats, hats, scarves, socks, gloves, blankets, ect. If you are intersted in doing a drive for us please contact Juliet Wallin at 592-6845.

  • Christmas Needs

    Christmas is fast approaching & we would love to have you get involved! 

     

    Sponsoring a meal: 

    It is $500 to sponsor the entire dinner that feeds hundreds of people. 

    It's a great way for your company, organization or family to volunteer together & make a big impact. 

    If you have banners we would love for you to put them up in our cafeteria. 

    We promote it through our newsletter, facebbok, twitter & blogs.

    Volunteering: 

    This year for serving the week of Christmas we are asking all volunteers to donate $10 to feed 5 hot meals & reserve your spot to serve.

    This helps us greatly with our food costs & with scheduling as this is one of our busiest times of the year.

    We try very hard to make it an enjoyable experience & utalize all of our wonderful volunteers who come to serve. 

    All volunteers must be scheduled throught our volunteer department.

    Please call 383-4493 & ask for Jessicca or Debbie, they would love to get you scheduled.

  • Holiday Needs

    We have some exciting volunteer opportunties this holiday season!! 

     

    Thanksgiving is approaching fast & we're doing special sit down dinner's all week long. 

    - We need volunteers to help serve meals that whole week. 

    - Fill out our quick volunteer form & Kelli Buck, our volunteer coordinator will be in touch.

    - If you're a talented musician we'd love to have you play music during dinner to make it extra special. 

    - Sponsoring a meal is also a great way to make a big impact!

    It's $500 to sponsor a dinner that feeds hundreds of people. You can come & volunteer the night you sponsor to see how you are helping & making a difference. This is a great way to serve with your family, friends or company.

    TEEN SLAM

    (June 18-July 8, weekdays from 9:00-3:00pm)

    The Teen Slam is a 3 week summer program created to teach teens work skills, to build meaningful relationships, and of course , to have fun! It will be held June 18th through July 8th at different work sites and fun places each week. 

    Volunteers for this program will need:

    • Desire and skills to work with teenage participants

    • To provide their own transportation to program sites

    • To dress casually in clothes they’re willing to get a little dirty at recreation and work sites

    • To have completed the online volunteer application 

     

    KID’S SLAM

    (July 5 - July 29, weekdays from 12:00 till 4:3opm.)

    The Kid’s Slam is a 1 month summer program designed to teach grade school children social skills through art and science projects, group visitations, simple community service, and fun events! The program will be held in July, from the 5th to the 29th, and will be separated into three age groups so that the projects can be specialized for each group.
    The themes for this Kid’s Slam are:

    • “Who Am I”

    • “Who are We”

    • “Cultures”

    • “Extreme Fun”

    Volunteers for this program will need:

     • Desire and skills to work with grade school children

    • To dress casually

    • To provide their own transportation to the campus and to recreation sites

    • To have completed the online volunteer application


    GARDEN INTERN

    Flexible hours and days (any day during the morning) 1-2 hours per day

     Ideal Individual likes the outdoors, gardening, doesn’t mind getting dirty.

    MISSION TRIP LEADER

    (August 6th-12th, Browning, MT)

    If you have some free time, a desire to change lives, and previous construction experience, we would love to have you join us on our mission trip to Browning, MT.

    Volunteer Opportunities for Groups:

    Host a BBQ for the Adams Street Family Campus:

    Bring your friends, hot dogs and burgers, and some outdoor games, and your group can host a BBQ at our Adams Street Family Campus. Normally, about 50-60 parents and children are around for lunches at this campus. We will provide the grill and kitchen prep space, and your group will definitely have a great time.

    Yard Work and Landscape Upkeep

    With 6 facilities throughout Tacoma, we have lots of yard and weeds to be pulled. Come join us for an afternoon of yard work. If you can bring rakes, gloves, and trash bags, we can put your group to work.

    Needs for May 2011

     

    Adams Street Family Campus- Shift Manager 10pm-6am, Wed.- Fri.

    This position is a high responsability, highly rewarding position working side by side with our staff Shift Manager.  

     

     

     

    Challenge Learning Center: (at the Downtown Campus)

    We are searching for someone to teach a basic Spanish class.

    Also looking for a reading/ writing tutor for GED client. The best hours for this would be weekday afternoons, possibly from 2-4pm. This job promises to be instrumental in transforming lives.

     

    Receptionist: (Jefferson Apartments)

    Enjoy being social and spending time with great people? We need a part-time receptionist for an easy going work environment.

     

    Veterans Affairs Office: (at the Downtown Campus)

    We are searching for someone to help our veterans with basic questions and resources. Primarily, Thursdays 3:00pm to 6:00pm.. A military veteran or someone preferably with some experience with the VA at American Lake would be ideal for the job.

    We always need help with childcare. This would support our parents as they take classes and study.
